America...under attack yet again. The loss of property, tremendous. The loss of life, horrendous. Once again we have become the target of a person, a group, and a belief that wishes to destroy everything we are and everything we believe in. As proven time and time again, it is not within our vision to relinquish our pride, our freedom and everything our forefathers fought for and delivered to us so that we might live this life that is so valuable and that which so many other countries could only hope to achieve. We will stand strong, we will overcome what has been laid at our doorstep.

As it becomes more clear who was behind this atrocity one can't help but wonder what drives a person to such callous acts upon innocent life, or indeed upon anyone. Religion is not, nor can it be used as a base for such deeds. It is merely a cloak hidden behind to try and justify the intense hatred and jealousies of one. Because they cannot understand how a nation such as ours can live so peacably, so freely, side by side with each other and maintain such unity and strength, that which makes us what we are. Our governments do not obtain power by iron fist ruling, assasinations of those who get in their way, and an opression of those people who they deem to be below them. Our people do not fear our neighbor beside us, our government who stands with us, and our armies who protects us.

One thing apparent in this act of terrorism is that the passengers and or crew of one of these ill-fated flights had struck back after dismissing their own safety. THIS act alone and everything it stands for should demonstrate to those who orchestrated these attacks that we will fight back!!! We will fight for our freedom and we will defend our country from the very moment, indeed the very second we feel we are being threatened. The heroism from this act as I believe it to be is undescribable in words. Heroes...everyone of them, who sacrificed their life to save what can only be imagined to be a great many fellow americans. They are America and what we stand for.

And so we ask ourselves why, why indeed did this happen to us? The answer could be many things as seen through the eyes of people around the world. Reflecting on this question of why, although no reason is justifiable for such an act, I believe that we, our people, our nation can overcome and rise to this invitation. An invitation to finally fight with the support of nations across the world, the terrorism in which the world has had to come to terms with for far too long now. We, probably better than most if not all other countries have the ability, the drive and the strength to face this challenge. We shall look in every corner, under every stone, and behind every mountain to flush out and destroy those who wish to terrorise the world. Who better to fight against such people? Who better to stand strong, united and fight for the justice and freedom of the people around the world?

Our country has cried, but as the tears are still wet on our faces, as we grieve for those whom we have lost and as our thoughts are dazed and confused, we know we shall overcome. We will stand strong together, a gentle nation, but a nation that will answer the call to battle to fight such evils so that we may remain as a nation, founded on freedom and justice for all.

For Our Heroes

save for them a place inside of you,
and save one backward glance,
when you are leaving,
for the places they can no longer go...

Be not ashamed to say you loved them,
though you may or may not have always,
take what they have left and what
they have taught you with thier dying
and keep it with your own.

And in that time, when men decide to feel safe,
to call the war insane,
take one moment to embrace those gentle hero's,
you left behind.
