Welcome to the Alamo!
As a person with an addiction to history, the Alamo has always been my favorite. From a young age I could stare at a picture or muse over an old relic and my imagination would carry me off to times long past where I could spend hours just trying to envision what it must have been like! These pages are not meant to be an education although you may learn something here. I do not claim that anything here is fact but rather information gathered by historians over a period of time by cross referencing statements and affidavits that have been carefully studied. Many things may forever remain a mystery but as quoted by Walter Lord in his book, A Time To Stand, "legend is often truer than history and always more lasting".

The Seige Of The Alamo
Built as a mission, but in its greatest moment was to be a fortress that could never succeed at its given duty. The tragedies of the battle are legend, as are the frontiersmen who defended it. The fall of the alamo only happened after a small collection of men, from eighteen states fought to the death, giving their last breath to defend it. With little hope of recieving any help from elsewhere, hopelessly outnumbered but determined to fight for their freedom, they made their final stand. For those famous thirteen days of history they withstood the assualt and cannon fire from Santa Anna and his men. These last days are a symbol of the courage of the american people and their spirit to fight and to defend the liberties of a nation.
