Welcome to my Birthday basket Tutorial.

Here is what we are making!

This tutorial requires Paint Shop Pro (you can download a trial

version here , and Eye Candy 4000 which you can get here.

You will also need my selection files and decorations

which you can get here.

Please note that I have not included a lot of screen shots as I feel

this is a relatively simple tutorial that mainly requires screenshots

for settings only.

Lets begin!!!

1. Open a new document 500x500. Set your foreground

color to #6C6AA3 and your background to #9DB8DA.

2.Add a new layer and call it basket. Go to

selections-->load from disk and navigate to

where you unzipped your selections and load righthandle.sel.

3. Floodfill your selection with your foreground color.

Go to Effects, Filter, EyeCandy and select Weave.

Apply settings shown below.

If you only have Eye Candy 3.0 the settings are similar

and if you have neither go to Effects-->

texture affects-->weave in PSP with Gap-2, Width-20 and

Opacity 73.You can play with the settings and

your fill colors for different looks :)

4. Go to Effects, 3D Effects, Inner bevel and apply the settings

shown below and deselect.

5. Add a new layer and call it left handle.

Load the lefthandle.sel. Flood fill with your foreground color.

Add your Eye Candy weave with the same settings as before

and then apply your inner bevel with the same settings as before

then deselect.

6. Add a new layer and call it right handle. Load the

righthandle.sel. Once again floodfill, apply the weave

and the inner bevel and de-select.

You may want to move your right handle just slightly

in towards the left if you feel it is looking to

thin where they both meet. Move your basket

layer above your two handles. :)

7. Activate your basket layer and add a new layer calling it birthday

sign. Open up the birthdaysign.psp that was included

in download. Copy this image and paste it as a new

selection on to your basket.

Congratulations!! You have a basket all ready to decorate.

I recommend adding a new layer for each decoration as this

will allow you to re-arrange them to your liking and also

to place things in between your handles.

Don't forget that PSP has a few useful tubes such as

streamers that can be used to "line the bottom of basket"

before placing items on it. :)

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial !!!
