A little about me.

Your soul is bound to the Glass Rose: The
Fragile. "My heart lies somewhere between perfection
and dust. And while my soul is a sight to
behold, I shatter at the blink of an
eye."
The Glass Rose is associated with perfection,
beauty, and frailty. It is governed by the
goddess Aphrodite and its sign is the Looking
Glass, or Tenuous Love. As a Glass Rose, you have a beautiful soul and
naturally attract people to you. Love comes
naturally to you, but it hardly ever lasts.
Though you embody the perfect form of love,
your own faults are your own undoing.

I have been asked over the years why? Why do I not have an "about me" page? To be honest I don't like talking much about myself, never have done but I guess it is time to give it a try. I have one brother Kevin, who is a year older than me, two sisters, Darla and Roxy who are 3 years and 1 year younger, respectively. I also have 2 half sisters, Harriet, who is my dads daughter, 10 years older and Carol, my moms daughter who is 9 years older. I was born 10th April, 1964 (I'll let you do the math) in Braintree, Essex, England. My dad was in the Air Force so I just happened to get lucky I guess as I am a dual citizen of both England and The United States. I was 6 weeks old when we returned to the USA. When we were stationed back stateside we were sent to a place called Altus AFB, Oklahoma. My memories there are vague. To young I guess but I do remember when it snowed there. The delights of a child are never forgotten I guess. From there dad was stationed at Shephard AFB, Texas. There is a wee small town, just a few miles out called Burkburnett which is where we lived whilst he was stationed there. Good ole Texas! Plenty of things to be remembered here. Playing at the silo, walking the railroad tracks every day, swimming in the summertime. By this time my sister carol was driving and she would take us out a lot. Roller skating, horse back riding and trips out for the day to the mountains. I played my first game of softball in Texas the summer before we moved and was awarded most improved player. My brother kevin placing a dead rattle snake at the base of the garbage can, wrapping it neatly around so my mom would find it which she did, calling the police in a mild panic and watching them come out to shoot a dead snake. Our favorite police man, Officer Brumblee would come visit almost every day and was also the one to find me and my sister locked in the restroom at the local gas station the day I talked her into coming on a trip with me! I sure don't know how I managed to get me her and her tricycle in the restroom that day but I know when he asked me to please open the door I couldn't! I was convinced the room had shrunk after we got safely in and locked the door! I remember we used to get personal visits from Santa Claus on Christmas eve. He would visit, come with his arms full of presents telling us he had seen our dad. Dad of course, was gone for years at a time, or so it seemed, overseas serving in the war. My dad, in 1971 was given new orders to go to Loring AFB, Maine, my oldest sister Carol, announced she was getting married at the same time. My only memory of her wedding was afterwards, standing on the side of the road, my sisters and brothers already in the car ready to go, Carol and her new husband Phillip watching, and I, in tears and not wanting to leave. I was pretty much dragged away that day but not before I got a little vengeance. Me, in my pretty wedding dress, pink lace, full length, and attacking the groom. Phillip got the most almighty kicking of the knees and shins that day as I yelled at the top of my lungs how he had stolen my sister! And yes, even today everybody remembers that. Day after the wedding we are off to Maine. We arrive in the middle of a deep snow. Oh boy, for kids from down south this is almost to much to believe. Maine, my favorite place. I still love it and always will. There is something almost magical about it for me. Winters so cold and snow so deep. Summers of perfect temperatures. We did all the seasonal things. I loved ice skating and would wait each year to see the fire truck go by to water the ice rink at the chalet. Once it was watered then the next day it would be ready for skating. Trout fishing, hiking, exploring the woods in summer. My first year of High School. 1977 and another tour in Vietnam in exchange for another stripe. Dad said no and retired as a Msgt. after 30 years. For those of you who don't know, upon retiring the Air Force will ship you and your family and all your possessions to anywhere in the free world. Mom had lots of relatives in both England and Australia so in the end we were off to Australia! My teenage years, where yes meant yes and no wasn't heard. Some good times, most were bad. I was married in 1985 and later divorced after many years. I have a son, Brett and a daughter Melissa. In 1998 I moved back to the United States. Brett and Missy came with me but later decided they wanted to live in Australia with their dad. I have since re-married and currently am living in Oklahoma. As I get the inclination and time I will add more to this story. The next few pages are full of photos. After thinking how to display them I decided to put them in chronological order. I have pretty much suceeded but some are out of place. I hope you enjoy looking at them! And now...on with the show.....
