In memory of those who lost their lives on that tragic day...
April 19th, 1995
It is not often that a community, a nation, or the world as a whole grieves openly together until such a tragedy strikes. Without warning, and with such quick fierceness, so many innocent lives are lost, so many futures changed and so many plans for the future are irrovocably swept away forever. As people reflect on what has happened they realise it could have been their brother, their sister, their child, their husband or their wife and the impact of such thoughts awake us to the plight and enormity of loss that has occured. The pain felt by those who have lost their loved ones in such a manner cannot be fully felt by others unless they too were to experience such a tragedy, but to feel their grief, we do. Many years have now passed since that tragic day and this page, this memorial, is as much for those who were left behind to grieve, as it is for those who are now gone. As this day approaches each year, may they find the strength and courage to carry on, to remember the smile on a face, not the dust in the air, the laughter of a voice and not the rubble on the ground. To know that on this day... they too are remembered.
